The Elwha Klallam Heritage Training Center, completed in 2010, serves as a multi-functional training facility for families on Tribal TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families).
The programs being offered integrate life and vocational skills, cultural values and history, as well as provide entrepreneurial avenues and initiate opportunities to learn traditional Klallam arts. This center not only gives tribal people the tools they need to carry on their cultural value, but also gives the Tribe an opportunity to share with the community.
Although, the purpose of the building is to serve Tribal TANF clients and teach classes, the facilities will also be available for rent by the public for a fee to help sustain the costs of the building.
